  1. He wants to delay because the President and the Dems have the momentum, and the people, behind them.  Delaying is a tactic he wants to use in order to try to mitigate the Dems power to stand up to him and his Republican bullshitters.

  3. I know… much the same game he’s been playing since he got the speakership.    i’m sure there is some thinking along the lines of… drag this out two more years on the maybe chance of picking up some more seats in the mid-terms.

  5. Boehner is a jellyfish. Weak, and a complete coward. He needs to tell the likes of Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor to get over it and do what’s needed…which means canning the dogma and work with the POTUS. I’m not holding my breath.

  7. I love how people think they know exactly what the Founder’s were like.  Even Historians admit to not knowing that.  There is evidence for some things though, and it does not say what these people seem to think it says.

  9. I’m not sure I agree with Mr Sagan.  Thomas Jefferson was a product of his culture, education, and upbringing.  The politicians we have today are also products of their culture, education, and upbringing.  The changes we need to make are in those things before we can expect any changes in political behavior.  Remember, the schools Mr. Boehner went to were designed specifically to produce people that did NOT think for themselves, but rather to listen to what their bosses told them.

  11. But we are all still conscious human beings – or have the potential to be. We all have the ability to make the decision to be greater than our past, and the way we were taught.

  13. I’ve talked that to death… waiting until college to introduce critial thinking skills is far too little, far too late.    the brain is already conditioned to bad habits.

  15. Not all of us DID go to those schools, though.  And many of us who did go to those schools recognized at the time what they were, and took steps to actually learn how to learn.  Unfortunately many if not most of the people elected to the highest offices are those who conformed like ‘good kids.’
