This ended up covering a lot of ground on the whys of my frustration with this mythological battle between the religious and scientific schools of thought.

Also, by extension, a lot of the whys of my frustration with a rather large amount of other studies.  (Particularly political polling.)

There is both an art and a science to conducting such research; as well as with interpreting the results of that work.   It’s always a bit imperfect because what it really illustrates is that even the smarty-pants among us are still prone to the human condition.   (As an aside, whenever I think about the human condition I hear the Borg Queen when she says to Data:   You are an imperfect being, created by an imperfect being.)

As remarkable as our present body of knowledge may be, it still presents a very crude understanding of the universe at large.
