Nominate nonprofits to be featured by The LittleBigFund!

The time has finally come to help decide what nonprofits The LittleBigFund will feature! We work with three regionally-focused nonprofit organizations a month, telling their stories, promoting their cause and ultimately delivering assets for them to use in the future. As we tell the stories, you donate small amounts of money to form a big fund. Then you vote on which nonprofit you feel would use the fund the best. We launch in June and we want your input on who to feature! It all starts today.

What organizations are we looking for?

The LittleBigFund is looking for nonprofit organizations in America that was regionally, state, or locally focused. We’re not looking for a big national organization and the more focused their purpose / mission the better. On top of all that, organizations that are passionate, forward-thinking, unique, groundbreaking, driven, scrappy (you get the idea) all move to the front of the line.

The first theme

Each month has its own theme and focus. One month could be “Arts Education” and the next “Technology.” The board debated about what our first theme will be when we launch in June and we’re happy to announce that the first theme will be LGBT to coincide with Pride Month and the Supreme Court decisions. That means we’re especially on the lookout for any LGBT organizations you recommend. The next two themes will decided in May.

How are nonprofits chosen?

Nonprofits are reviewed on a rolling timeline by our board members and me. At each quarterly board meeting I will present his selections for the following three months. The board will approve them, offer amendments, and present their own preferences if they are different. Ultimately though it’s up to our board of directors to select the themes and nonprofits.

It’s all about empowering you to make the world a better place

You nominate nonprofits. You contribute what you can. You vote on which nonprofit receives the fund at the end of the month. We reward you with the story about how your donation kept a nonprofit up and running. You’re involved in every step of the process. We think that’s only fair.
