Got confirmation yesterday evening that miss Nora is definitively a victim of Cushing’s Disease.    Now we begin the treatment phase.   This is lifelong medication she’ll be on, and it isn’t without its dangers.   She’ll have to be monitored very closely to ensure she doesn’t have adverse reactions.

Her vet expressed that she rarely gets to diagnose such a thing in her career, given the expense involved in making the diagnosis.    She seems a bit impressed that I’d undertake such a thing given the short time I’ve had Nora, and the expenses I’m going to be incurring.    I think Nora has already won over a few hearts over there.

  1. Thanks guys.   My biggest worry is the expense.   The STIM tests are not cheap.   They’ll also need to be performed regularly, lest we overdo it and give her the opposite condition (Addison’s).

She strikes me as a fighter though.   I’m just going to be satisfied by improving her quality of life.
