Even if #TheBaker  can’t be my personal chef, his eminence can probably provide me counsel.

As he is aware, the Stryse is on a very limited budget.   About $100 total to feed himself.   $20 of that will go to coffee-related expenses.   It is a must.

Seeking suggestions on low-cost meals.   I usually eat a light breakfast and lunch, with more of a dinner…which probably isn’t good for my tummy size.

  1. A fair amount. I actually enjoy it. Though I don’t have much cooking for one experience.

I’m also semi proficient in a kitchen when it comes to actual cooking.

  4. Oh, excellent. And yes, going back to what you said, we should invert your meal structure. Breakfast like a king, lunch like a knight, dinner like a pauper. Not that you’re not insanely sexy already, but it will also help moderate your insulin and blood sugar and thereby keep you full longer, so less food needs eating.

  7. They are the best ratio of fullness to nutrients to cost, IMO. Sweet potatoes being the best, but satiety has a lot to do with enjoyment, so no need to force it. Avoid at all costs bread and pasta. Brown rice is an acceptable choice, other whole grains are better if they’re available and you enjoy them.

  10. Unless meat is a requirement for you to be happy (which I totally understand if it is..) you should avoid it. Most meat that’s affordable does you more harm than good, and it’s not really required, especially on a short term.

  13. chicken is the worst =\ But not going hungry trumps nutrition, especially short term. If you’re willing to break out the crock pot, chicken on the bone is way cheaper and tastier. Don’t bother with chicken breasts at all. They’re not worth buying and way overpriced. Do you have an Asian grocer there?

  16. If you like eggs, they are also good, especially if you buy them bulk. Try to find an Asian grocery and compare prices on produce and meat. It’s a little more work to shop there, but they tend to carry better quality and cheaper cuts because that’s what their clientele are used to. Immigrants won’t pay our bullshit American grocery store prices for crap food.
