  1. …. They already have the drone ship. If they were planning on water landings, they would have to seal and waterproof the rocket to keep corrosive saltwater out, as well as add flotation devices, all of which would add extra weight, not to mention down time for the refurbishing process. But now they will know how susceptible the first stage is to saltwater corrosion.
